Constructed in 2012, and situated in the Ranch's apple orchard, the Orchard House cabin provides incredible views from inside and out towards both the La Sal mountains and down the canyon to the red rocks around Moab. The main floor has 3 bedrooms, one with a king bed and a master bathroom, one with a queen bed and one with two twin sized beds. A second bathroom is located in the hall. The rest of the main floor includes a large open kitchen with island and breakfast bar, a dining area, and a cozy living room with wood burning stove. Upstairs, the loft provides a great hang out with a comfortable sitting area and access to TV with Netflix/Blue Ray and the spectacular views down the canyon. Two more twin beds and a sleeping sofa are located in the loft. A spacious balcony provides wide open views to the La Sal mountains, and in the event that more entertainment is needed, the family can gather around the shuffleboard! Don't forget to sit on the wrap around deck and combine the views with the wonderful sounds of nature. This is a big enough accommodation for a larger group of 8 while still very cozy for couples or small families.

off the beaten track, but well worth it..

My son and I recently spent a week at Orchard House as a base of operations for daily hikes in the National Parks and nearby trails. Located about 8-10 miles from the center of Moab, it was close enough to be a non-factor getting into town when needed. Orchard house is above all quiet, peaceful and provided everything we needed to 'self-serve' on meals..the unit was extremely well furnished, with only a couple of minor items needing improvement. With only 4 or 5 units in the complex (a converted cattle ranch I think) the environment was extraordinarily quiet..the ambient light in the evening is virtually non-existent, so evening star gazing was at the top of the list every night..an unbelievable number of stars, especially coming from the light-polluted northeast. One minor quibble (not the units fault)..the wifi service was spotty (out for the first 2 days of our trip)..I attributed this to a inadequate ISP, and not the unit's router. Overall, the unit gets high marks and I would return if I visited the area again.

The Orchard House at Pack Creek was the perfect place for us to stay during our vacation in Moab! The home was beautiful inside and out. We had everything we needed to relax after hiking in Arches National Park and the Canyonlands in the mornings. We enjoyed the loft area, the pool and the sauna in the afternoons and were close enough to drive to Moab in the evenings. We loved staying outside of Moab, away from the hotels, where it was quiet. The home was clean and beautifully decorated, had plenty of space for all of us, and the yard and view was spectacular. The beds were the only negative aspect. The mattresses were a little too firm for us so we did not find them to be as comfortable as our pillow-top mattresses at home, but this is just a matter of preference. It would not stop me from renting this property again.

We LOVED the Orchard House at Pack Creek Ranch. There were six of us (including two teenagers), and we could have slept more if needed. Very beautiful property, quiet and peaceful. About a 15 minute drive to downtown Moab. We were there mid-June to visit Arches National Park. Temperature was about 10 degrees cooler at the ranch than Moab which was nice since it was in the 90's in Moab.
Great place to stay

The Orchard House was the perfect choice for our visit to Arches & Canyonlands National Parks. It is far enough out of town to get away from the maddest of Moab yet it is close enough to the parks to be convenient. The house is lovely. All on one level, spotless, extremely comfortable, and had everything we needed to make our stay perfect.

This place was beyond amazing. Exceeded expectations it was totally furnished including shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion and a fully stocked kitchen (minus food). The beds were comfortable. The house was clean and comfortable. The sound on the DVD didn't work so well -- but then again who watches TV on vacation. Location from town and attractions was average. The property was well take care of we did not use the pool or hut tub but they looked clean and well kept.
Most beautiful place in Moab!!!

Pack Creek Ranch is awesome. I could go on and on about the location but will keep it short. The ranch is a perfect place to stay. Service from the management company was great. We arrived a day early, on a Sunday no less, and there was a nice lady who helped us arrange to get into the house early. The house is beautiful, the best on the ranch in my opinion. With its modern ammenities and location, you cannot find anything better in Moab. However there were some issues. The house was not as clean as I expected it to be. Housekeeper does not look under furniture for past residence crumbs, dirt, etc. She needs to be more thorough when cleaning after guest leave. We also had an unwelcome guest. Once we realized there was a mouse in the house, we took care of it immediately. This is expected with a rural location, but management company should keep an eye on things like that and nip it in the bud before their guest have to take matters into their on hands. That said, we will return again and stay in that house. For allergy suffers like myself, you should know that in Spring the apple orchard is in bloom and you will sneeze a lot, so bring your meds. Great views of the La Sal mountains at your back door with views of the red canyon over Moab at the front, great sunsets. This home is perfect for large families with young children. Be careful of the staircase however, it is steep. One other small note of interest, the wood pile is under the porch, in it are some dangerous guest...black widow spiders. Management company will hopefully look into that now that it has been brought to their attention. So go, stay, play, and have a great visit.

Thank you for the kind words about the Orchard House. It sounds like Pack Creek Ranch was the perfect location for you, and we are glad you enjoyed it so much. As you mentioned, the Orchard House is one of the nicest on the Ranch, and other "uninvited guests" would like to stay there too. We do have a pest control service that preemptively sprays and traps our units at Pack Creek Ranch quarterly. And if additional work is required on this front, we take action immediately. The wood pile has been moved away from the house and sprayed, and additional traps were set. The spiders and mouse are taken care of, and we will closely monitor the situation. For future stays, please notify us of any cleaning or pest issues so that we can take care of them immediately for you. We want your stay to be the best it can be, and would like the opportunity to address any concerns while you are here. Thank you for your stay with us, and we'd love the opportunity to host you again.

Superb property for an extended-family gathering

Orchard House is a handsome, beautifully furnished and thoughtfully designed house that is comfortable for up to 10 people. Its open, flowing design downstairs and large, modern kitchen makes it easy and pleasant for people to cook and converse together. The living room is small but cozy with a fireplace. The huge, finished loft with balcony, a nook for two twin beds, a carpeted nook for hideabed, armchair, and TV, and a large open space for kids to play in makes combining adults and kids in the same house a dream. The balcony and the house's porches would make summer living here additionally delightful (it was too cold to use them this Thanksgiving). We have stayed in various cabins at Pack Creek Ranch before and love its peaceful location south of Moab at the foot of the La Sal Mts. We always enjoy the cabana with hot tub available for all visitors and paying a visit to the (privately owned) goats and the horses. The management company gives excellent service and responded to our every question immediately during the booking process and during our stay. Consider Pack Creek Ranch if you value peace and quiet away from the frenzy and strip development of Moab; don't expect dude-ranch amenities or services. There are none. You're on your own here; bring what you need. Depending on the season, you can hike or cross-country ski along forest roads in the La Sals almost out your front door one day and hike the slick rock of the nearby canyon country the next. It takes about 15 minutes to drive into Moab.
Peace and tranquility at its best!

We stayed at Orchard House in Pack Creek Ranch. What an incredible place! It's a few miles outside of Moab and feels like a piece of paradise in an otherwise desert area. The stunning large piece of green lawn in front of the house was a winner for the kids and they had a baseball bat and ball and needless to say the kids had loads of fun. There are goats and horses that you can take a walk to as well as a really big pool, more than suitable to cater for all the cottages. The Jacuzzi was also great. The actual house was beautifully decorated and well equipped and easily catered for our party of 8 - we didn't even use one of the rooms downstairs! Being just out of Moab we had to drive into town but that wasn't a problem at all as we just did our shopping after we did our daily tours of arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse point etc. Moab is lovely town and well worth a wonder around all the lovely shops. It's always difficult to know what to expect when you book online, but this is a real gem and the cottages aren't that close to each other so you feel like you have your own space, yet you have that real holiday feel as you can see some of the other families on their porches Bbq'ing etc. The manager was super friendly as well and made us feel very welcome. I hope we can go back one day and spend more time there!
Fantastic modern cabin

Great House- with quirks
Stayed 3 days in April, 2013
One thing we did not know about this house is that it's in the middle of a resort type property. It's a beautiful small ranch with several cabins and houses and this house in smack in the middle, so while there is a large lawn area surrounding the house, there is little privacy. The location and property are beautiful and care takers were very friendly. The sauna was closed but the hot tub was clean and hot. The house lacked enough pots/pans for the amount of people it sleeps, you need more to actually cook enough food for everyone. The upstairs is completely open, which is where 2 beds and 2 futons are as well as the TV/living room. So while it sleeps 12, it only has 3 bedrooms that are private. Overall we had a good stay, but it wasn't what we expected due to location and resort type set up.

Thank you for your review. It's important to note that this property only sleeps 8. As such it is stocked and setup to accommodate that size party. Please make sure to property state your party size so we can fully accommodate you. There are 3 bedrooms downstairs, and a large, open loft area upstairs, so this home gives your party lots of sleeping options. Pack Creek Ranch is a small, secluded area, and our guests enjoy the privacy it provides. The homes are well spaced from each other, and there aren't many of them. It is a beautiful setting, with great amenities. We'd love to host you again, and would split your party in 2 homes to better accommodate your needs.
